Tony McGee's black and white A5 comic Dark Weather features suburban soap opera with foreboding of more peculiar developments. The black and white art is strong, atmospheric and tells the story clearly with some very tasty layouts. The panels on many pages are somewhat repetitive in their composition and choice of angles, but I think this was a deliberate and well brought off attempt to create tension and establish tempo. However, both the teenage and the twenty-something characters tend to speak in similar ways, with the effect that I lost interest in them, diluting the suspense created by the visual storytelling.
